After we have first applied a layer of Cracking paste primer and it has become transparent, we use a brush or sponge or spatula to apply the second material (cracking paste) with paint. It is also suitable for use with stencils. The paste will break as it dries. The structure and depth of the cracks depend on the thickness of the material we have placed. A thin layer of material will give the texture of crackle paint while a thicker layer of material will give a three-dimensional effect. When dry, the finished surface can be decorated with other colors or another antique finish. Note: the size of the crackle depends on the thickness of the materials and especially on the second layer of paint.
